Tony D’Alberto and Wall Racing have this week unveiled the newer FL5 model Honda Civic that will contest the final two rounds of the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia season.

The 2022 TCR Australia champion farewelled his successful FK8 model in style at Sandown International Raceway last month, claiming one final race win before shifting to the newer model.

Next weekend, D’Alberto will tackle Sydney Motorsport Park and attempt to further implement himself into title contention, as he currently sits in fourth place and 83 points behind series leader, Bailey Sweeny.

The round will also be the first of two Kumho TCR World Tour events down under, where D’Alberto looked forward to sharing the track with some of the best TCR drivers in the world.

“It’s going to be really interesting with the World Tour, the competition is going to be really high, but I am hoping some of the Aussies can out-perform a few of the guys,” D’Alberto said after the Sandown round.

“It’s certainly not going to be easy, I remember when some came out in the past, they are so in sync with cars and extract so much out of them.

“It’s going to be a big challenge, but I suppose it will be a good measure of how competitive our series is.

“I think it’s great for the category. I think it adds a lot of excitement to the last two rounds and it will bolster the grid up.

“Hopefully some young guys see it as an opportunity to showcase what they can do and TCR hopefully gets seen as maybe a feeder category for some drivers, building excitement for next season.”

Those who are unable to make it to the track for both rounds will be able to catch the action live, on demand and ad-free coverage on Stan Sport and on the Nine Network.

Kumho TCR World Tour and Supercheap Auto TCR Australia will share the grid at Race Sydney on 3-4 November, before returning to the track the following week for Supercheap Auto Bathurst International on 10-12 November.
