Nathan Herne secures Trans Am pole at Supercheap Auto Bathurst International
Continuing his stint at the top of the timesheets so far on Friday, Team Valvoline GRM driver Nathan Herne has secured pole in Turtle Wax Trans Am at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst International.
Herne set a 2m 10.914s to achieve pole position at the Mountain as Nash Morris pushed him hard in the Supercheap Auto Ford Mustang, but fell 0.794s shy of the benchmark.
Starting third will be the TPS Group/Breeze Holiday Parks Chevrolet Camaro of Brett Holdsworth as he continued his impressive season, while alongside is veteran Owen Kelly in the Garry Rogers Motorsport Ford Mustang.
Fellow Tasmanian GRM driver Lochie Dalton was sixth from CXC Racing’s Dylan Thomas and Hugh McAlister in the McAlister Motors Mustang.
Rounding out the top 10 was Zach Loscialpo in the Team Tempest Solutions Chevrolet Camaro and the Waltec Motorsport entry of Aaron Tebb.
Fourth-generation racer James Simpson just missed the top 10 in his Seven82 Motors Dodge Challenger as he edged American visitor Robert Noaker in the Franklin Road Apparel Racing example.
After not running in the earlier session, Dream Racing Australia’s Craig Scutella placed 13th in his Chevrolet Camaro ahead of the SupaFSeries Ford Mustang of Jack Sipp, while Adam Hargreaves followed in the Local Search/T2 Racing entry.
Rounding out the field were John Holinger, Nick Lange, Brett Niall and Jason Pryde.
